Tanel Veenre, born inTallinn in 1977, lives and works inTallinn,Estonia.
TV has educated as jewellery artist (MA) inEstonianAcademyof Arts (1995-2005, by prof Kadri Mälk) and Gerrit Rietveld Academie inAmsterdam(1997-98, by prof Ruudt Peters).
He has shown his work since 1996, which includes jewellery, photography and fashion.
Currently working as freelance artist, writer for Estonian daily and professor inEstonianAcademyof Arts.
Statement
Wood and stone, shell and resin … warm and bleak, tender and solid, dreams and prose, dusk and dawn. But they embrace each other, it is eternal addiction. Reflection of a stone enlivens wooden branches covered with cosmic dust.
This opens the doors behind mirrors, pathways to the fairytales where archaic becomes contemporary, existential turns aesthetic, subtle seems intense and earth meets heaven.
